Minecraft 1.21.100 Update is Live — Here’s What’s New
More than 140 million people play Minecraft every month—and now there’s a fresh update to explore. The new Minecraft 1.21.100 update for Bedrock Edition is officially out as of August 5, 2025.
What’s in the new Minecraft update?
This latest Minecraft Bedrock update brings several small but useful changes, with a big focus on copper. If you turn on experimental features in Minecraft (specifically the “Update 3” toggle), you’ll get access to new copper items like tools, armor, and storage chests. There’s also a new helper mob: the copper golem.
Copper golems are small robot-like creatures that can carry items and help organize your stuff. “Copper golems are handy, organization-loving companions,” Mojang wrote in the official Minecraft patch notes. They carry up to 16 items and can sort things between chests—kind of like your own little inventory assistant.
You’ll also notice some small world changes. Forests in snowy biomes look more natural, mushrooms grow better under swamp trees, and frozen oceans now have small open water areas to break up the ice. The update also brings a new flat world option called “The Void”, which was previously only in the Java version.
Why does this matter for Minecraft players?
Until now, copper didn’t really do much in Minecraft. But with the 1.21.100 update, it finally has some real purpose. You can now craft copper gear and storage items that aren’t just for decoration. This makes early-game mining more rewarding and gives players more ways to organize and build.
The copper golem in Minecraft also adds fun automation, especially for players who like to build smart bases or play solo. It won’t do everything for you, but it’s a nice way to reduce the hassle of chest sorting.
More updates behind the scenes
Besides the new features, this Minecraft Bedrock patch includes bug fixes and small improvements. Ghasts (the flying mobs in the Nether) now drop XP and sound better. Touchscreen controls are more responsive, and a long-standing cloud save issue on Xbox has been fixed.
Mojang also added accessibility features—like better support for screen readers and clearer inventory visuals. These updates don’t always make headlines, but they improve the game for a lot of players.
What should you do next?
If you want to try the new content, you’ll need to turn on experimental Minecraft features. Go into your world settings, scroll to “Experiments,” and enable “Update 3 (2025).” Be aware that experimental worlds might not always work perfectly—so back up your saves first.
Want to see how the copper golem works or test out how to get copper tools in Minecraft? Now’s a great time to log in, explore the changes, and build something new.
Give it a try
The Minecraft 1.21.100 Bedrock update doesn’t change everything—but it adds just enough to keep things interesting. Turn on experiments, test out copper features, and see how the new mobs and biomes feel. Who knows—this might just be your favorite update yet.
